Repairs and Restoration

Headed by Paul Ayres, the highly skilled and experienced Ayres Violins team carries out all of our repair and restoration work on site in our purpose-built workshop. Paul, Dave and Michael are always happy to take the time to discuss your requirements and advise. They undertake all instrument repairs, from tonal adjustments and the gluing of open seams to complete restorations and major repair work following accidents. They have a great deal of experience in liaising with insurance companies in relation to accidental damage claims and written estimates for repair can be provided on request in the event of a claim.

Our regular clients include members of the BBC Philharmonic, the Hallé Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, the Northern Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of Opera North, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia and the Royal Northern Sinfonia as well as the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and freelance musicians throughout the UK and overseas.
